General Admission to the College
Any person who has a high school diploma, its equivalent, OR who is 18 years of age and able to benefit from a program of study at Blue Ridge Community College may be admitted. All degree, diploma or certificate-seeking students (excluding Career Studies), without a high school diploma or the equivalent, must demonstrate ability to benefit before being accepted to the institution. Blue Ridge Community College will utilize General Education Diploma tests, independently administered by local agencies, and College Preparededness tests as evidence of ability to benefit.
The College reserves the right to evaluate special cases and to refuse admission to applicants when considered advisable in the best interest of the College. Students also may be denied admission if there is reason to believe that they present a danger to themselves, other students, and/or faculty members.
