Network Printers
Network printers are provided in central locations in each building.
Toners for HP printers are available in E105. Contact the ICS Helpdesk
with printer problems.
Multifunctional Copier/Printer/Scanner/Fax
Networked Ricoh multifunctional centers are located in the following
rooms:
- Armstrong 100
- Armstrong 104
- F106
- J104
- Houff 105
- Plecker
- AMC
Ricoh Scanning requires a software application to be installed on your
computer to access the scanned files. Some Ricohs also have an option to
email your scanned documents. Contact ICS for software
installation or assistance with scanning.
Supplies
Ricohs have a maintenance/supply contract. Toners are covered by
the contract. Each area Ricoh has a designated contact person to order
supplies as needed. The phone number to call is on the front of the
machine as well as the equipment ID number.
Service
The service contract provides service within 24 hours
If a service
call message appears or there is a problem that you can't resolve, call the
customer support number listed on the front of the unit. You will need
to have the equipment ID number listed on the unit ready when you call.
The customer service rep will create the service ticket and ask for a
contact phone number. The technician will then call you to set up an
appointment.
Color Printer/Copier
A networked color printer/copier is available in E105 for official
college use.
Guidelines
If you have a job that will require more than 500 one-sided or 250
two-sided copies, please contact the Duplicating Department two weeks in
advance for the following reasons:
- Scheduling: Large color printing jobs can tie up the color
printer for hours, thus backing up any requests sent by others. Large
print jobs also require much more attention from the machine operator.
- Equipment Limitations: Your job could exceed the capabilities
of the equipment. If quantities, size of paper, or finishing surpass the
abilities or time constraints of the Duplicating Staff, it will have to
be sent off-campus for printing. Given that all off-campus printing jobs
must first be offered to the state prison, this can easily add two or
more weeks to the process.
Departmental Printers
Although BRCC IT policy is to provide networked printers to maximize
resources, some departments have opted to purchase non-networked printers
for departmental use. All supplies for departmental printers must come
from departmental budgets. |
